The All Progressives Congress (APC), it has been learnt, is resorting to manipulating results from far-flung polling units across local council areas in a futile effort to upturn their imminent defeat in the 2024 Edo governorship election.

The incidents of manipulation were reported in Ikakumo, Akoko Edo Local Government Area and Ologbo, in Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area.

For Ikakumo, it was learnt that the result sheets were filed and uploaded to the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) IREV portal even before voting materials got to the polling units in the town.

In Ologbo, a riverine community, the polling at Town Hall III was reported to have recorded over 2,000 votes, which was recorded before before officials got to the area.

The APC is on a hunt for votes after early results show that they are likely to face defeat in the polls.
